Muscat, June 7, 2020: In line with its commitment towards supporting and empowering its employees at the professional and scientific levels, several faculty members of Oman Tourism College have contributed to enriching the academic and scientific fields through the publication of several studies and researches at local and international levels. This effort also enhances the fact that scientific research is one of the key pillars of the college.
Dr. Abdulkarim Sultan Al Mughairi, Dean of OTC said, “We hold great importance to scientific research and academic publishing here at OTC and encourage our staff to participate in local and international conferences and seminars. Moreover, supporting their research publishing in various scientific journals are aimed at enriching scientific output and knowledge sharing in a manner that supports efforts in this regard, alongside achieving research objectives.”
OTC lecturers provided a significant contribution by supporting the publishing and scientific research field. Dr. Abdelbaset Quieri’s research proposal, titled ‘Capital Budgeting Practices in Oman Manufacturing Sector’, was been approved for funding by The Research Council, while Dr. Farzaneh Yarahmadi contributed a chapter in the upcoming book: ‘Dynamics of Institutional Change in Emerging Economies – Theory and Evidence’ published by Springer. Dr. Don Anton and Dr. Riah Encarnacion conducted a collaborative research by contributing to the 19th European Conference on E-learning, which is set to be held at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, from October 29 to 30, 2020. As part of its accomplishments, OTC also recently signed a cooperation agreement with Oman Research Repository, ‘Shuaa’, with the aim of providing a scientific and academic contribution to all students, researchers and interested individuals, both within and outside the Sultanate.
