The Training Program for Practicing Tour Guiding Profession

Aim of the Programme

A specialized training program concerned with training and qualifying those who are interested. to obtain Tour Guiding license.

Brief about the programme

A training programme for two weeks for those who are interested to obtain a tour guiding license. The program will equip the participants with knowledge, necessary information of this active field, and the basic knowledge of First Aid. By the successful completion of the program, the participants can apply via a designated link created by Ministry of Heritage & Tourism to proceed with the application to obtain the Tour Guiding license card.

Targeted group

Omanis who are working in the field of Tour Guiding, and/ or those who are interested to practice the Tour Guiding profession.
For foreigners who work and are sponsored by the offices of tour operators who wish to practice the profession of tourist guidance in foreign languages other than English.

Tour Guiding Training Program ( 2 weeks)
This program is designed for the candidates who don’t have enough knowledge, skills nor the experience of working as a tour guide

Phase Three

After successfully passing the training program, an application for obtaining a tourist guide card is submitted via the website of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, along with the following documents: Photograph. A copy of the academic qualification. A copy of the curriculum vitae and certificate of completion of the training program from the Oman Tourism College. A copy of the criminal record (certificate of non-conviction) for Omanis only. A copy of the medical report. Notice The foreign guide must be under the sponsorship of a tourism company for the activity of tour operators or travel agencies. The job title of the guide on his residency card should be (tourist agent or travel agent), and no other title will be considered. to follow up on your application for obtaining the license via the following link:

Program details

	Program Details:		2 weeks/ 35 hours
	Skills and knowledge gained from the program		Theoretical part: Information about Geographical, historical, cultural, nature and tourism related General information about Sultanate of Oman. Practical part. Field trips.
	Program Fees		150/- OMR for Omanis 200/- OMR for non-Omanis
	Program phases		After Applying through the designated link: Apply into application Phase One: Written Test (the test is divided into five sections, general information, the historical aspect, the tourism aspect, customs, traditions, and wildlife) Phase Two: a personal interview to assess the language spoken and test the interpersonal skills of the applicant. Phase Three: After the successful completion of the training program, apply for the Tour Guiding License Card and upload all the necessary documents through the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism Website via the link
