Muscat, July 1, 2020: Oman Tourism College (OTC) has announced that it is taking part in EduFAir 2020, the first-of-its-kind virtual educational exhibition, from July 1to 3, alongside several other local and international universities. Over the course of the exhibition, OTC will showcase its General Foundation programme, Bachelor (Honours) and Diploma in various fields of tourism, with a representative from its Admissions and Registrations department present to answer any enquiries visitors might have.
Highlighting the importance of OTC’s participation, Dr Abdulkarim Sultan Al Mughairi, Dean of OTC said, “Due to the current unprecedented situation, it has been a challenge for most students to be able to visit universities and learn more about the courses they might be interested in to help them plan for the future. We place crucial importance on the educational needs of the present generation and through this virtual exhibition, we can provide them with a better insight into the number of courses that the college has to offer, right at the comfort and convenience of their homes. Whether they are on their phones or personal computers, students can get in touch directly with us and learn about our various programmes with ease.”
EduFair is supported and sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and will be broadcasted on major social media platforms. It is expected to have a reach of 500,000 to 800,000 people.
“At OTC, we have several programmes, short-training courses and professional development courses, including BSc (Hons) and Diploma in four primary majors, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Tourism Marketing, Event Management and Business Enterprise. Pathway courses in Service Management or Innovation & Entrepreneurship are also available. Our state-of-the-art classrooms and labs are fully equipped with advanced tools and technologies to ensure a seamless learning experience. Moreover, the college also offers a full-time or part-time study system, to provide students in various fields of tourism an opportunity to further develop their qualifications and skillsets to advance their career,” Dr Abdulkarim added.
Students can log in online at www.edufairoman.com for free over the course of the exhibition to view the various courses as well as to have a discussion with relevant representatives for any enquiries. Interested students can register for the courses offered by OTC by entering the college website and filling in the required registration form.
OTC offers a wide range of professional courses that meet the needs of the tourism and hospitality sectors, including Travel & Ticketing, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Etiquette & Protocol, Tour Guide, Languages, Customer Service, and much more.
All of OTC’s academic programmes are accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and quality assured by the Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), while the professional courses are offered in collaboration with Lobster Ink, AHLEI, Travelport and Highfield. OTC also provides consultation services in menu preparation for restaurants, cafes, and small and medium enterprises.
