Terms And Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the Oman Tourism College Student Portal at https://www.otc.edu.om/portal/. By creating an account, logging in, or otherwise using the Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Portal.

2. Eligibility

The Portal is intended for use by:

  • Currently enrolled OTC students
  • Prospective applicants completing admissions processes
  • OTC faculty and administrative staff
  • Other authorized users as designated by OTC

Access credentials are personal to you and must not be shared with any other individual.

3. Account Registration and Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must notify OTC immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • OTC reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that show evidence of unauthorized access, misuse, or violation of these Terms.

4. Permitted Use

You agree to use the Portal only for its intended academic and administrative purposes, including:

  • Viewing academic records, grades, and timetables
  • Registering for courses
  • Making fee payments
  • Communicating with faculty and administration
  • Accessing institutional announcements and resources

5. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Portal, other users’ accounts, or OTC systems
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Use the Portal to harass, defame, or infringe upon the rights of others
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person
  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute Portal content without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Portal’s operation or servers
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Portal without prior written consent

6. Academic Records and Data Accuracy

  • Information displayed on the Portal (grades, attendance, financial records) is provided for your convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the official records maintained by OTC’s Registrar/Administration shall prevail.
  • You are responsible for reviewing your academic and personal information regularly and reporting any errors promptly.

7. Fees and Payments

  • Any fees payable through the Portal must be paid by the stated deadlines.
  • OTC is not responsible for payment failures caused by third-party payment processors, banking issues, or incorrect information provided by the user.
  • Refund and cancellation policies are governed by separate OTC financial policies, available from the Finance Office.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Portal, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, course materials, and software, is the property of Oman Tourism College or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

9. Availability and Modifications

  • OTC strives to keep the Portal available at all times but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Portal may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or reasons beyond our control.
  • OTC reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Portal at its discretion, with or without notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Omani law, OTC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Portal, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of access, or missed deadlines resulting from technical issues.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Portal is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with Oman’s Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree No. 6/2022) and its Executive Regulations.

12. Termination of Access

OTC may suspend or terminate your access to the Portal at any time, including upon graduation, withdrawal, disciplinary action, or violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Portal shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Oman.

14. Changes to These Terms

OTC may revise these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Portal after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
