Muscat, March 30, 2021: Oman Tourism College (OTC) recently signed a partnership agreement with W Muscat, to provide its students with various specialised training opportunities within its facilities. The agreement was signed by Dr Abdulkarim Al Mughairi, Dean of OTC and Gerald Chevasson, General Manager of W Muscat. The signing is in line with OTC’s continuous endeavours to strengthen its network of relations with entities operating in the tourism sector, in order to provide practical training for its students and ensure their readiness to join the job market upon graduation.
Commenting on the signing, Dr Abdulkarim Al Mughairi said, “At OTC, we seek to establish partnerships with various tourism and hotel establishments to exchange experiences, share knowledge and develop the current academic curricula. This way we can stay updated with the current trends in the tourism and hospitality sectors and keep pace with the requirements of the job market. Moreover, entering into such partnerships will contribute towards diversification of the work environment that will prepare our students for training, as part of their graduation plan. Through these collaborations, we aim to provide the tourism sector with Omanis with the best competencies and skillsets, who will lead the progress and development of the tourism and hospitality industry in the Sultanate, with suitable practical experiences.”
“We’re incredibly excited to be working with OTC to help bring to the market a pool of new well-trained Omani talents. Learning from international best practices, it is partnerships like these that will propel the country’s hospitality offerings to a new level of service and experience,” said Gerald Chevasson, General Manager of W Muscat. “Since opening our doors in 2019, we have recognised our responsibility to share our knowledge and expertise in the industry with its next generation of movers and shakers and we look forward to supporting them on their way to realising their dreams.”
