OTC Concludes Specialised Training Course for Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve and Atana Stay Al Ashakara Employees

Muscat, January 31, 2021: The Training & Professional Development Unit at Oman Tourism College concluded an online training course in marketing, hospitality and management on January 19. The course took place over a period of three months and was organised for a number of hospitality staff from Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve and Atana Stay Al Ashakara, which are part of OMRAN’s portfolio of companies. The course was aimed at enhancing several skills including sales and marketing, finance and accounting, revenue management and guest and staff handling. At the end of the training course, the participants were invited to the college to receive their certificates. In addition, an open discussion session was held with the faculty members, headed by the Dean, to confer about the status of the tourism sector and its future opportunities in relation to the development of human resources in the tourism sector.

Commenting on the course, Dr Abdulkarim Sultan Al Mughairi, Dean of OTC said, “Oman Tourism College, represented by the Training & Professional Development Unit, offers a wide range of training courses in tourism and hospitality which are based on the requirements and needs of the sector. These are available in various formats, such as online, blended learning or physical attendance, while adhering to all safety and precautionary measures stipulated during the pandemic period.”

“The aim of the training course, which was held for OMRAN Group employees, is to enhance their levels of competency and enable them to provide more professional services at the Group’s hotel establishments. OMRAN believes that the performance of its staff is the cornerstone in achieving a high level of visitor satisfaction. OTC, a subsidiary of Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN), is keen to organise various activities and events aimed at keeping its students aware of the latest updates in the tourism and hospitality sectors and their related fields. The college placed a great emphasis on the various training programmes to enhance the skills and knowledge of its students to prepare them for their role in developing the tourism sector in the Sultanate and take advantage of the job opportunities it provides
